Libby Lam
Libby Lam, aka “Lady Libby”, is a best-selling children’s book author and illustrator who grew up in Hong Kong. Having led a corporate career for more than 10 years, Libby turned away from her past in search of a different life purpose – to inspire confidence and courage in children by creating her own children’s books. Known for the unusual story plots and vibrant images, Libby has learnt her trade at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Hong Kong since 2011. Her three published books, “Checklisted Beauty”,“My Best Friend Sunny” and “Crispy Children” were her course assignments and were later named best sellers in Hong Kong.
“Ten-Star Service” is Libby's fourth publication. She considers it her great honour to dedicate this book to Make-A-Wish Hong Kong – a wish-granting Charity that has been a primary motivator for Libby to give back to society and help children. Inspired by her background in psychology and her prior corporate career, Libby's stories explores how individuals are challenged by society at different fronts and how they could rise to their own strength. The pain and euphoria of motherhood she experiences also bring a vivid and intimate touch on her characters, making them more relatable to the young readers. It has been a difficult journey for Libby in charting a new career in the creative industry, but the new meanings her books bring to the charitable causes have made her efforts worthwhile.
